Student Leadership
Vision
An Empathetic Leader for our community
Mission
To provide sequential experiences that enable Dunmanites to build upon their skills and competencies.
Our Belief
At Dunman Secondary, we believe leadership is learned and developed through an ongoing process. With the right mindset and willingness to improve, Dunmanites can become influential leaders, with the intent to contribute positively to the people around us.
Our programme is designed in alignment with the Student Leadership Challenge model by Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner. The Student Leadership Development committee commits to nurturing Empathetic Leaders and Impactful Innovators by offering a purposeful platform for our student leaders to delve into complex issues concerning our school and Tampines community, and to ideate for potential solutions.
Our Student Leadership Boards
Students’ Council | Peer Support Leaders |
---|---|
Student Councillors aims to be the bridge between the student body and the school administration. They co-organise school events, promotes school spirit and advocates for student issues. The council plays an important role in fostering leadership skills, promoting student involvement, and creating a sense of community within the school. | Peer Supporters aims to create a supportive and inclusive school environment where all students feel safe and supported. They look out for peers who may be struggling with personal, academic, or social issues. Peer Supporters lead workshops on coping skills, and refer students to professional resources when needed. |
